Sveta, i am not a pure libertarian.. those people are insane..
but when peoples stupid behavior ruins their lives AND makes everyone pay for it... ( and i don't believe as a society we are willing to let people die because they were too stupid and did not buy insurance ) we have to take measures to protect every party involved. it's the same reason we require car insurance.. if you hit me.. you better have a way to pay up.. by the way, if u chose not to buy insurance you can self-insure.. i am all good with that. |
here is a little more on CEO's compensation
( $128mil/yr is lowish, right?): ********blogs.webmd.com/mad-about-medicine/2007/08/ceo-compensation-who-said-healthcare-is.html . just few examples of physicians suing ins companies : ***********.ethicalhealthpartnerships.org/insurancelawsuits.html |
а правда ли что товарищ Степанян выиграл в лотерею 20,000?
да, правда.. тольло не товарищ степанян, а товарищ Акопян и не 20,000 а 10,000 и не в лотерею а в карты и не выиграл а проиграл. Julia, this is how your statements sound to me :) they are all true.. almost.. |
While the nation is mourning the loss of its legend, our president will play golf and go out for ice cream with the family. All former presidents have canceled their entertainment plans. Obama will appear to deliver the eulogy later this week.
Our first lady, in a dignified gesture, will not bother to attend any of the services dedicated to the memory of the man who spent 47 years in the US Senate. She's already been proud of her country once before. No need to do so today. We have entered a new age in this country. Bamalot, the vulgar unrefined brutes, will not pay the proper respects to Ted Kennedy. I knew that you can't teach an old ape new tricks, but this is too much. |

Bill would give president emergency control of Internet pretty cool! |
Not knowing the details of this bill, I would say that I am OK with it if it's a matter of national security.
|
Probably the most controversial language begins in Section 201, whichpermits the president to "direct the national response to the cyberthreat" if necessary for "the national defense and security." The WhiteHouse is supposed to engage in "periodic mapping" of private networksdeemed to be critical, and those companies "shall share" requestedinformation with the federal government. ("Cyber" is defined asanything having to do with the Internet, telecommunications, computers,or computer networks.)
so, basically it's an extension of Bushes policies where under the umbrella of national security government gain more and more access to private individual and corporations without due process. |

Didn't you vote for change?
Obamas policies are not that much different from Bushes.. aside from the loony healthcare reform.. and allowing stem cell research.. I fail to see much difference.. |
