ten commandments , or doctrines of "don't do unto other" ...do not need to stem from any religion. People should be civil to other human beings and good to their environment not out fear of G-d or punishment, but out of normal common sense of what's good for humanity. Makes lots more sense and transcends religious lines.

Svetlana, those laws came WAY before they were recorded in Torah. read secular Hammurabi laws please.. this is the origin of many things in Torah.

laws are not doctrines :) they are laws..
if anything if we had no laws we would have no crime.. lol.

that's right...laws are laws, but people have to follow them...so it's almost the same as following the doctrine, is it not?...you don't just look at the data...:-)

maybe they are not born with moral instincts , but parents who teach them what's moral don't necessarily have to tell them they have to be moral out of fear G-d.
