yeah, it has absolutely everything to do with your post regarding the falling dollar... also with the price of tea in China. (md)(md)(md)
|
ObamaCare is multitrillion boondoggle added to the governement expenses. It depresses private sector and the economy as well as increases public debt.
The result could only be a spike in money supply on the market. In other words, excess money printing will create a massive inflation, i.e. decrease in the value of a dollar. |
Inflation and a value of $ are 2 different concepts, although somewhat related they don't go completely in concert.
Value of $ can be dropping ( like it has this year for example ) while we still under DEflationary pressure. If someone is really interested in a lesson in economics i can go deeper into explanation, however i don't think anyone ever listens :) |

------------------------------------------- Such confidence... it's almost as if you had a crystal ball and there was only one school of economic thought. |
Sarah Palin, the former vice-presidential Republican candidate, onWednesday sought to link the dollar decline to rising US indebtednessand dependence on foreign oil.“We can see the effect of this in theprice of gold, which hit a record high today in response to fears aboutthe weakened dollar"
and and if they cut costs to the insurance companies, what do you think will happen to the benefits?... yeah, it has nothing to do with the falling dollar... ------------------------------------------------------------ or the dollar fell "as rising equities markets fueled demand for riskier assets at the expense of the safe-haven U.S. currency, while the Australian dollar rallied on strong jobs data." But blaming Obama is just so much more fun... . I'm sorry, but this is getting a bit too ADD for me. |

------------------------------------------------------- Sarah Palin knows a lot about the declining dollar because she was right (yeah, right *-)) about the death panels in the healthcare reform bill... Sorry, still don't follow. |
Excessive debt levels in the USeconomy point to excessive inflation in the past and suggest that GDPgrowth, having been over-stimulated, will contract more severely thanexpected. Similarly, bank balance sheets must contract for debt levels to return to sustainable levels.
Consumer debt, however, is not the main problem. As unfunded liabilities come due, the US public debt will rise and servicing the public debt will grow significantly compared to tax revenues. Fiscal 2009 federal tax revenues were approximately $1.6 trillion, while spending was roughly $3 trillion. Interest on the US public debt was roughly $361 billion, thus the cost of servicing the public debt represented roughly 25% of tax revenues. At the same time, federal tax revenues have been in decline. ********news.goldseek.com/GoldSeek/1254895620.php |
for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,"...what extraordinary efforts? The nomination process takes place on Feb 1 -- 2weeks after Obama was sworn in?!?!! WTF has the whole world gone insane?

The dollar rose to session highs against the yen in mid-morning trade on Friday, extending a rally sparked by comments from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke that the U.S. central bank will be ready to tighten monetary policy as a recovery takes hold.

dollar rose .5% today.. still down 15% against the basket of currencies from the March highs.

Congress has made little progress on the federal government’s budget for fiscal year (FY) 2009, which begins October 1, leaving federal funding for research and development (R&D) in limbo. Congress is preparing to leave Washington for the rest of the year after completing action on a bailout for the financial sector, postponing final budget decisions for most federal agencies until 2009.
|
Earlier in the year, congressional appropriators endorsed large increases for the three physical sciences agencies in the American Competitiveness Initiative (ACI), increases for human spacecraft development, increases for biomedical research in the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and increases in other parts of the federal research and development (R&D) portfolio. But instead, most federal programs will continue to operate at or below 2008 funding levels for several months into the new fiscal year. In real terms, the federal investment in basic and applied research has already declined since 2004, and under the CR federal funding of research would decline again in 2009 for the fifth year in a row.
|
***********.aaas.org/spp/rd/fy09.htm
this is 2009...strange $400 billion for research with our borrowed money when our economy is in terrible shape...and note that the congress has been democratic since 2006...all the appropriations were made by them...from 2000 to 2004 the overall funding for research had gone up 40% ...I guess some were hoping it was going to go up with at the same rate forever... |
The article you referred to in your 22:25 post, was written in 2008, the title of this thread is: "Действия Обамы в качестве нового президента" - I'm having a difficulty following your train of thought.
|
nope, 400 bil was the total bill...150 bil - for R&D - still awefull lot - almost 7% increase in such terrible times...
|
Obama has played as much golf in 9 months than bush did in 2 years 10 months
***********.politico.com/click/stories/0910/obama_ties_bush_on_golf.html |
what difference does it make how he spends his leisure time? just because he played more golf than bush, doesn't mean that Bush spent that time hard at work...
|
Lina, is there anything at all that Obama does that you will not defend?
It's pretty well documented that a president with two wars on his hands, worst financial crisis since the depression, etc, etc, etc has been spending his time entirely too leisurely and has accomplished nothing in the last 9 months |
what am I defending? I fail to see any logic in that accusation... one could also say that Obama spends more time screwing his wife, that doesnt mean that Bush wasn't also spending that time in bed...
can I see that documentation? |
well you have to admire the level of faith (blindenss, whatever) some people have. Even the leftiest lefties from SNL are commenting on how ineffective Obama is, but not Lina, oh no...
|
looks like bush preferd readign to golf, unlike our new president who is reading the same 270 page book since april;-)
********politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/06/02/obama-keeping-up-with-bushs-reading-pace/ I love that there articles about all of these...some journalists really have a lot of time on their hands |
Lina, are you denying that Mr.Obama is taking his sweet time producing that change in rays of hope that he promised you? He has both houses, he had enjoyed a high approval rating until recently, he could have passed so much legislation. Instead, it's beat-Oprah-in-popularity contest.
|
Oleg, I'll agree with you that Obama is too soft... he should learn to be more like Bush, and shove things down people's throats - whether they like it or not
|

It's called being a president, Lina. "people" like to eat BBQ ribs, watch "Lost" and vote on American Idol. Presidency is not a popularity contest. |
Lina, what things are you talking about? Considering that Obama was elected by majority of the country, the House AND the Senate aren't there things that he should be doing that most (people who voted for him) should like? He's not doing those either...
Don't get me wrong, I will be perfectly happy if he gets nothing accomplished till the rest of his turn |
the House AND the Senate = has the Democratic majority in theHouse AND the Senate
|
has he pleased ANYBODY so far? you are his vehement supporter, are you pleased?
|
first of all, I'm not vehement about anything or anyone... second, I think he's on the right track...
|
yes, your views are very measured, we all noticed it ;-)
and what track is that? you mean you agree with what he promises and plans? well what good is it if nothing gets done? |
looks like bush preferеd reading to golf, unlike our new president who is reading the same 270 page book since April
This piece talks about how much Bush loved to read. So, I bet Bush would win a reading contest with this "intelligent" president ( my a..s)(H) ********online.wsj.com/article/SB123025595706634689.html |

No, we can't? 3. Гера, не дождешься. Сейчас тебе Буша припомнят с Чейни. |
