Sviatlana, we support anyone who has sense even if he is a republican.. But Pickens doesn't support Bush and McCain currently, I respect the man just for that.. + he is at least trying to do something. he is spending his personal money to start it currently, he is collecting signatures to get support from the government and after all of that he is not getting any guarantee that it will work... so, he is risking his own money and name just because he believes in it. but people like Vitaliy just laughing...hm.. could you Vitaliy put out a commercial on national tv just because you believe in something? how about supporting McCain - go ahead, spend millions of your personal money in support of McCain... show us what you can do besides just laughing..

I think it's a great idea.. Vitaliy, you just want to keep drilling, and when we finish the oil (which is not a secret that we are at Oil Peak already, that is why we are in Iraq, and Russia is in Georgia), so you want to continue with oil, and ONLY oil without trying anything else... your logic we could only guess... so, lets run some ads on television to support McCain - you come out on the screen saying: "I love McCain just because I hate black Obama... Let's vote for McCain people.!." - and you pay your personal money for these ads just because you believe in McCain, and you are sure he will win.. you are sure he will win right? .... or you don't have stomach for this? :-D

zvuchit fantasticheski, no skolko pravdi v etom... we will never know if we don't try..Here Svietlana, I know you love cars, you probably can find on youtube movie "Who killed electric car" - it happened in 1995... we had the car and general motors killed it because of the oil industry.. this is very interesting story, recommend to everyone to watch that documentary.

по поводу машин,,, електромобиль это не плохо...но разница в цене на "просто авто" и "електро авто"
покроется только за несколько лет....
на данный момент цена и показатели елекроавто еще на достаточно соответсвыют моему стандарту... мне нравится когда машина реагирует быстро....
но елекртомобили несомненно займут свою нишу на рынке, уже заняли.... а технологии идут вперед иногда быстрее чем мы думаем.... кстати Японцы уже пользуются електромобилями лет так 6-8.

кто знает может через 7-10 лет електро Порче быдет ездить бустрее чем с бензиновым двигателем.

Даже разлиберальнейший Rolling Stones писал о том что ветряные мельницы, кукуруза, на производство которой уходит 15 % ввозной нефти ( Michael Pollan, Omnivore's Dilemma) , горючий сланец и все остальные известные альтернативы нефти - это УТОПИЯ.

В столице Индии Дели *все автобусы и такси на природном газе (Natural Gas - NG). Везде есть NG или CNG заправки. Сам видел. Борются за чистоту воздуха и экономят деньги. Согласен что начинать где-то надо.

Не только авто Света, я в Сиракузы летаю на самолете, это самый дешевый и удобный метод, поезд на пару доллраов дешевле, но я ценю свое время *а разница в 6 часов.

There is a place for you Yulia in democratic party, you know how to ignore any statement you can't argue with and go for the piece of supporting info. I rember the failure of that vehicle, the quiet pull out and destroyment of those cars. I personally never saw one, but I read lots of accolade when it came. Now, if you can tell me what you personally liked about you EV-1...In a meanwhile I'll do some reasearch.

Oleg, it's simple, what I love about EV1? - the idea.. now, did people buy these cars? - yes.. was it expensive? - I wouldn't say so, they were $400-500 per month rental in 1996. did people drive them? - yes. did they like it? - yes. were they upset that cars were taken away from them? - very much.. did they just destroyed the cars because of the f failure? - no.. they destroyed them just to destroy them as there was no new research done, no new cars offered, they shifted production of ev1 to gasoline cars and started lay off of ev1 sales team with no other reason but "they don't produce them any more".

You could deduct from my posting that I summarized the fate of EV-1 by the statement about its unprofitability. 96/03.

Oleg, send me info on electric cars I can buy now, and I will if it meets my criteria. But if I don't support renewable energy industry every other way I and you and everyone else can we will never see electric cars that we want to buy.

" 96/03." - I knew you didn't know that.. first cars ever made were electric. first car was made in 1889. in 1930 Ford killed electric cars industry by mass producing cheaper gasoline cars.

The reason we're buying oil abroad and not worrying so much about the alternative fuel developement is because oil is still very very very cheap. Even at those prices. Even if technology exists

Honda FCX Clarityit makes sense to buy cheap oil until the moment that we take most of it from our enemies and than switch to electric/hydrogen vehicles and tell our "friends" - drink the rest. Never thought about that?

Юля, это не утопия (про электр. car), но в данный момент большинство просто не может себе позволить, когда говорят про сохраниние энергии и показывают такую рекламу по телику, где детишки уговаривают тебя не включать дома лишний свет, я думаю как насчёт того, чтоб начать с верхушки, например иметь не 8-мь домов в своём распоряжении а *2-3, и не летать всей семьёй за счёт налогоплательщиков и прочее... список можно продолжить.

But yet he doesn't support Bush or McCain any more... as he understands they will not support renewable energy as much as Obama will.. :-)

Юля, я читаю Ваши посты внимательно, постарайтесь читать мои тоже. Замена нефти в том виде в котором мы её потребляем ветряными мельницами, кукурузой или горючими сланцами (3 существующих на сегодняшний день алтернативы) - это утопия, чтобы Т-Бон не писал на своем сайте. При чем тут республиканцы или демократы? Если мы покупаем нефть у врагов и осущетвляем massive transfer of wealth тратя 700 миллиардов в год, то может быть стоит бурить свою нефт, продавать в америке по внутренним ценам, дать авиа и другим транспортным индустриям вздохнуть. Хонда обещает индустриальное производство hydrogen fuel vehicles k 2018 году.

Меня тоже интересует, почему местная власть упирается сверлить у себя, ясно что на это потребуется время, но за 70 (судя по запасам) с лишним лет успеем.
