didn't Bush relax (as much as he could) some regulations? at least some environmental, and pollutions have been going down on his watch because he invested in technology to accomplish that as opposed to higher taxes..

Svetlana, some of the worst business regulations EVER were introduces under Bush. Look up Sarbanes-Oxley for example..
Government grew under Bush and under Reagan ( even as % of GDP ) in fact the only time it shrunk ( relative to GDP ) was under Clinton.

1.Sarbanes-Oxley was a populist move, a knee-jerk reaction probably, but do you think it completely useless, what are cons? what other regulations happen under his watch that were bad?
2.You know perfectly well why the federal government grew under Bush - it was mostly related to National Security, unless you know of some other?

but, anyway.. what we will have is the following:
Dems will probably lose 4-5 seats in 2010, while economy will start to recover ( unemployment will edge down to 8.5% or so )
Obama will get re-elected in 2012, with a split Senate most likely 50:50
Hopefully this will cause a much needed stalemate of power 2012-2016.
China will become #2 economic superpower by 2015
Electric cars will become prevalent by 2020 with a nationwide electric grid rebuild started in 2012.
Saudi, UAE, Kuwait will promptly default as oil demand will plunge, which will cause the next economic crisis of 2022.
