The following are my opinion points and thoughtsbased on the Congressional discussions - from this week:


· Toyota executives claimed - their top corporate goals are Safety, Quality and Volume, as well the fact that the corporation expanded too much too fast, hence some sacrifices were made by the growing business structure
· There is a definite trade deficit exists between the USA and Japanese markets, where only 3% of the market represented by the foreign manufacturers and suppliers. This explained by the inequality in legal situation with respect to the product related laws and regulations in each country respectively

· Toyota may be undisputed the best Manufacturer in the world, the fact which is heavily disputed by the industry experts recently with respect to quality and rate of production. However, the Manufacturing of the automotive products is the very last step before the product gets from the producer to the customer. The other steps are parts of the vehicle development, such as: Concept design, Prototype production, Product Validation, and government compliance

· As result of their Industry success, Toyota withier manufacturing superiority never, until may be 10 years ago, led in any other part of the Vehicle development cycle. They, by virtue of their culture, can improve and enhance any given product, process, design, etc. They (Japanese) have never been known inventing anything new, rather greatly improving it. Example – coming to USA with junkie automobiles and outgrowing the local giants in almost every respect

· The reshaping of the Automotive Industry of the last 10 years gave Toyota opportunities to invest and actually (for the first time) to lead the Industry with invention and implementing the new technologies, mainly in the field of automotive electronics
· Toyota did not have the experience to lead and properly develop as well as validate brand new technologies. As a result of that, they have never detected certain functional interface issues with the Vehicle assembly, which is evident by the discussions during the Congressional hearings

· They are fixing in the sequential order: the floor mats, the brake pedal assembly, the new software package, which tells me they are still learning. The biggest concern I have – is that they are learning the Validation procedure for the latest vehicle models, which is about 24 months too late

· Another point on the clash of cultures, as bad as media makes the US manufacturers - they are transparent with the product issues, such as recalls, campaigns, warranty, etc. As the public learns from the recent events, the foreign (specifically Japanese in this case) have very similar statistics with respect to the same categories for vehicles in the field, however, not readily available and seem to n=be concealed. It is due to the cultural and corporate practices these facts were never fully exposed by the media, which in my opinion is extremely anti-American biased

Slavik, Toyota did have a recall in Europe and China on the same issues of floor mats/unexpected acceleration.
Toyota is taking heat for a part made by a supplier, CTS. Same part made by another supplier (Denso) does not have that sticking problem.

· The president of Toyota acknowledged – his company made mistakes and promised full cooperation in the investigation and in the future business

я это помню, я так же помню
что у Ауди тоже были такие проблемы,
но дело не в этом. Дело в том что
тойота это дело замнула и сколько
людей погибло? Я думаю что проблема
не в коврике а в илектроннике машины
так как даже тормоз не работает. У всех
нормальных машин, мерседес бмюю тормаз
сработает даже если скорость нажата, но
не в тойоте.

Поэтому и извинялся. К тому же он у власти относительно недавно.
Эти проблемы/ошибки были сделаны в принцыпе - пожалуй 5 лет назад.
