To be fare, this particular block (that is responsible for unexpected acceleration) came from (and was designed) by an American company called CTS, not by Toyota. A similar block also used by Toyota designed and supplied by Denso does not have those problems.
BTW, CTS supplies similar blocks to the big three too...

CTS is a pedal assembly supplier, not a electronic system controller.

Toyota did not acknowledge the electronic melfunction yet.

In any case, the Vehicle producer is fully responsible for the performance of the Product as advertised, once it is out of the Manufacturing facility and out of the Dealership in the customer's hands.

Good Lord! Toyota is screwed. Their reputation is ruined and their credebility is down to zero.

Agree with Alex, wholeheartedly. Despite anything that was written here, Toyota has reputation that cannot be destroyed, let's not forget that Ford had Pinto & Explorer problems. Which out of big 3 car companies declined bailout money?????
